THE STRUGGLE OF THE JUGGLE

Let’s talk about the thing nobody really wants to say out loud…
The Struggle of the Juggle.

Because in the events world, balance isn’t always symmetrical.
It’s not your neat, Instagrammable version of random location checkins.
Sometimes, it looks like packing your suitcase in silence while your child sleeps off a fever, or FaceTiming into a family milestone from the back of a noisy venue, still wearing your organiser lanyard and a brave face.

Sometimes, it means missing out — weddings, birthdays, school concerts — not because we don’t care, but because the 18th iteration of the flagship event is going live, and you’re the glue keeping the vision from unraveling.

And more often than not, that glue is a woman.
Our industry — whether by purpose or pattern — is built on the shoulders of fierce, compassionate, high-capacity women.
Women who plan with precision, lead with heart, and show up — again and again — even when the personal cost is high.

And it’s not easy.

But what makes it bearable — what makes it beautiful — is the grace and love of those waiting on the other side of the show.

They always know how deep our love runs.
Even when we miss the cake, or the photos, or the ceremony.
Even when we show up with sore feet and half a voice — but full hearts.

They never question our love.
Not once.
Because they’ve seen it, felt it, lived it — in the stolen moments, the early morning cuddles before a flight, the effort to still be present, even when our bodies are miles away.

So here’s to the ones who never make us choose — who understand that loving our work doesn’t mean loving them any less.

To our partners, kids, parents, friends — the ones who keep cheering us on from the wings while we run the show —
You are everything.

Thank you for holding space for us.
For never making us feel like we have to earn our place at the table.
For knowing, always, that even when we’re not there —
you are never not loved.

So here’s my invitation to you — my fellow eventurers.

If you’ve ever felt the thrill of a show open, the pressure of a pending pitch, or the bittersweet tug of missing moments while creating magic for others —
you are not alone.

The Festival of Eventing is more than an industry gathering.
It’s a homecoming.
A place to connect with others who get it — who’ve lived the 4am call times, the three-device juggling acts, the pride, the guilt, and the purpose.

Join us.

Let’s share war stories and wisdom. Let’s laugh, learn, and refill our cups — together.
Because behind every unforgettable event is someone just like you —
holding it all, feeling it all, and somehow making it all happen.

Come find your people.
Come celebrate our industry.
Come remind yourself why you chose this path — and why you’d choose it again.

See you at the Festival of Eventing.
Because the struggle of the juggle is real —
but so is the joy of the journey.
